Crossbow Cocking Device, Crossbow Cocking Aid, Crank Cocking Device

With the continued increase in crossbow power, a crossbow cocking device or a crossbow cocking aid may be needed to help draw the bow.  There are three main ways to draw a mondern crossbow and include the manual pull, a rope cocking device or a crank cocking device.  We offer crossbow cocking devices and aids from top manufacturers such as Arrow Precision, Barnett,  Eastman, Excalibur, Horton, Parker and TenPoint to name a few.

The manual cocking method of drawing a crossbow is the simplest and quickest.  You put your foot in the stirrup, reach down and pull or cock the string manually.   If you have a higher pound crossbow or don't have the strength to draw a bow manually, this method may not be the most effective method. Additionally, the string must be pulled straight back each time to avoid mis-aligning the crossbow which will impact your shot. 

The second option to draw a crossbow is the use of a rope cocking device or rope cocking aid.  This method uses a pully system to draw the crossbow and can reduce the amount of physical effort needed by 50%.  This device will have two handles connected by a rope and two clips to grab the string.  After putting your foot in the stirrup and pulling back, your bow is ready to go.  We consider the rope cocking method the best option considering time, money and cost.

The last option is a mechanical cocking device or aid.  This option is essentially a winch attached to your crossbow where you draw the crossbow by winding a small crank handle.  This may be the only crossbow cocking option if you have a higher poundage crossbow.  This type of cocking device is more expensive, adds additional weight to the bow and take more time to draw the crossbow than either the manual cocking method or the rope cocking method.  However, this option allows anyone, no matter their strength, to cock a crossbow and is a great option for those that are physcially disabled.  Check out our crossbow cocking device selection from quality companies such as Arrow Precision, Barnett,  Eastman, Excalibur, Horton, Parker and TenPoint to name a few.
